Hey!👋 My name is Ashik Mathew Tharakan, an engineer turned designer. I'm currently working as a Product Designer at OpenVitae, a technology platform that connects companies looking to hire talent through external partners with a community of freelance recruiters and boutique recruitment agencies.
The day I realised that User Experience Design was that sweetspot between creativity and technology was the day that I truly fell in love with this domain. Even though I'm a Computer Science Engineer, I was pulled more into the realm of designing. I started with graphic designing where I designed posters, logos, T-shirts and templates. Slowly I moved to video editing and motion graphics. I also dived into 3D modelling along the way. I worked as a freelance designer during my college days which really helped me to gain exposure and to learn new design trends. It was also my source of pocket money.
Photography is something that I really enjoy doing as I love to capture memories. I would rather be behind the camera than be in front of it. I have worked as a freelance photographer and has covered multiple events. I love travelling and visiting new places. I like to play football, watch movies and series and listen to music. I'm a huge Marvel fan and I really like Captain America. I probably care too much about FC Barcelona and Dark Theme. When I’m free I usually play Valorant or FIFA with my friends.
